Let me introduce myself. I’m the surgeon that you hope someday might make things better for you. For some it will be in a small minimally significant way. For many others it will be more dramatic and life changing. In the time spent with me during your consultation we will discuss your concerns as I examine the areas you want to address. You will also meet several of my staff members who are legitimately some of the finest health care professionals you will ever come to know. As an Associate Professor of Plastic Surgery at Brown University I also have the responsibility of training young Plastic Surgeons including medical students from Brown Medical School.
The decision to choose me as your surgeon requires that you develop enough confidence in my skills to give me permission to do what’s necessary to correct the problem that’s been bothering you. Countless questions often arise during this process. Many patients feel frightened that the essential ones will not be asked or discussed. Please remember that we are here to fully respond to your individual questions and will always endeavor to give an honest, clinically sound response. The greatest detail about your procedure, its risks and benefits and post-operative period care will be covered in the Informed Consent package of papers you will be asked to sign once you have read them at home and are clear about them. A member of my staff will always be available to discuss your concerns.
I have trained at some of the finest medical institutions in the world including the Cleveland Clinic, Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital and my alma mater Brown. I am an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Plastic Surgery. I am board-certified in three specialties. To further reinforce your confidence in my technical and esthetic surgical skills I must tell you that I was honored to have done live surgery for over 400 surgeons from more than 20 countries at the world’s most prestigious breast meeting held yearly in Atlanta, Georgia last year which includes the world’s finest esthetic surgeons. I have been featured in the Rhode Island Monthly and most recently was named one of America’s Top Cosmetic Surgeons by Castle Connolly in the New York Times in June of 2013.
In the past several years I have been asked to teach all over the world as an expert in breast and body contouring surgery in many countries from Brazil to Japan. I am confident that I can deliver as fine a result as available anywhere in the world. One of my greatest joys in life is restoring my patient’s self image. I realize I am only part of the healing equation and would like to be your coach in this quest for self-improvement or reconstruction. You will become a part of a team that you can depend on for understanding and genuine care. Most patients say it feels like family being here with us. We welcome you to experience the same.
I travel to foreign countries often several times a year to do pro bono surgery on children. Most recently I performed cleft lip and palate repairs on children in Guatemala (February) and will be headed to Costa Rica for the second time in 2 years shortly to do burn reconstruction of the face, hands and breasts at the National Children’s Hospital in San Jose.
